Dr G’s research focuses on two major themes (a) health disparities, and (b) how the environmental and social factors can promote or constrain behavior (of individuals, organizations, institutions, or policy makers).

Her postdoctoral research at UCSF focused on the how smokefree laws contribute to tobacco denormalization

Her current research UC Merced focuses on (1) differences in health between first, second, and third generation Latinos, (2) oral health, and (3) factors that may mediate the relationship between tobacco and other health-related behaviors and positive or negative health outcomes.
