A New Garden Takes Root At Uc Merced! Kale-yeah!

Plant-A-Day, hosted by the Yosemite Leadership Program and Engineers for a Sustainable World, invited students to come and help fill our school’s garden boxes with new young plants and seedlings. Students were given a shovel, pair of gloves, and some seeds, then off they were to help create new life. As the event progressed, visitors talked with each other and planted there seeds where they wished. By the time it was over seeds and plant-lings covered the once barren boxes. In the coming seasons students will be able to watch these plants sprout and grow and know that they helped start this bit of life at UC Merced.
