The Blum Center graciously agreed to judge the Public Health 005 Global Health Posters that were the fall semester class’ research projects (at stake 10 extra credit points). The goal of this project was to link local Merced or SJV health issues to larger, global health problems.
This class had a significant number of first semester freshman enrolled, so I was very proud of the work they put into their projects and the research that they engaged in.
The winning posters are:
Arthritis in the San Joaquin Valley and on a Global Scale by Monica Martinez, Ashley Vang, Andriana Lazo, Elizabeth Cruz, Jessica Gonzalez, and Odalis Moreno
Local issue to global problem: Effect of low birth weight infants on the population by Pajai Her, Alexandria Johnston, Dominique Phipps, Evelyn Salvador, and Rachel Stadnitskiy
Diabetes in the San Joaquin Valley by Xochilth Aceves, Kiani Hunter, Nicole Quiroz, and Wendy Zhu
Please join me in congratulating our winners!
I would like to thank the Blum Center for agreeing to be the judge for this event.
